Quarantine Outreach

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Athena Cares members are still thinking of others. We brainstormed ways to help from home, and here are some of the ways kids chose to help spread cheer and kindness:

• Collecting food for the local food shelf (we also donated 212 pounds of food items from the Athena Cares food pantry)
• Masking masks to donate
• Making signs/posters to show support for essential workers
• Sending thank you cards to healthcare workers, police, and firefighters
• Writing encouraging words on sidewalks
• Painting and leaving Hope Rocks with positive messages around the neighborhood

In October, we educated and encouraged all students in our school to PLEDGE to be DRUG FREE. Those who signed the pledge were able to spin a prize wheel and had their pledge posted on their grade-level poster. Thank you to the Athena PTSA for helping us purchase almost a thousand prizes! KUDOS to those respecting themselves enough to vow to make healthy choices...
